Nicole and Natalie Albino are twin sisters who make up the hip-hop duo Nina Sky. The Queens, NY natives have been making dope beats and spitting sick raps since 2004. You might remember their chart-topping reggaeton single “Move Ya Body” from way back when, but they’ve changed things up a bit since then. One of our favorite bridesmaids (and plus-sized clothing line designers!), Melissa McCarthy, has announced that she and her husband, Ben Falcone, will be directing a new movie, Tammy. It’s clear that the couple has no time to waste, as they recently began a production company called On the Day, with three films in the works already. Not only will McCarthy and Falcone direct the film, but they also wrote the script together. “The Light That Shines” is a documentary about Jill, a young woman diagnosed with breast cancer just after her wedding. She underwent chemotherapy, radiation, five surgeries, and a double mastectomy. She later lost an implant due to an infection and no longer wears a prosthetic breast to replace it. She has now been diagnosed with incurable stage 4 bone cancer. Merely a week before conservative radio talk show host Kevin Swanson claimed that your birth controlled womb is the home for dead fetuses, he sat down to explain the difference between “cute” and “ugly” feminists. Fellow Christian Dave Buehner joined Swanson in the discussion, as they talk through the ways in which feminists became “selfish, narcissistic, family-destroying whores.” Swanson starts off by asserting that all feminists goals are loads of sex, birth control, and abortion. This Austin, Texas gals give us the best synthy beats and moody vocals with this track off their upcoming album If All Here Now, set for release April 15th. With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, most people are focusing on dinner plans, gifts, and parties. The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), on the other hand, proposes a slightly different agenda. Seven out of ten women experience violence at some point of their lives, and UN Women is working to change that. The organization works to end all forms of violence by aiding the passage of stronger laws, stopping exemption from punishment for offenders, and providing services for survivors of these crimes.
