This street style edition is chalk full of bloggers such as Bryanboy, Lifestyle Hunters, and one of my personal favorites, cinemagraph lady extraordinaire, Jamie Beck of From Me To You. The comings and goings of all the shows were just as exciting as the shows themselves and usually a chaotic crowd of photographers lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the hottest looks of the moment.
This was at the fabulous Norma Kamali 3D shopping experience hence the somehow stylish 3D glasses. Read More
When I heard designer and fellow San Antonian, Angelina Mata, was showcasing her Spring/Summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection for this year's Fashion Week, I knew I had to be there. I'd never seen her work before and wasn't sure what to expect, but I knew I wanted to celebrate Texan style makers and lovers in NYC.
I have to say, I was really blown away by her Atelier collection. Not only were the clothes gorgeous, but each was a look from head to toe of impeccable styling and rather than a traditional runway show, the models stood as a sort of living installation of pure fashion. Read More
Inspired by "nostalgia for a simpler time," Suzanne Rae created a simple, stylishly zen-like collection for Fashion Week using crepe de chine, silk chiffon, hemp jersey, and raw silk. The collection was quiet, but comprised of some very polished, clean looks. You could actually see the pieces on everyday kind of girls (except maybe that awesome straw coat thing above). There was an effortlessly hip kind of vibe to a lot of the looks and the models even look less like models and more like that super cool girl everyone knows. Read More
Laurie covered the event in this previous entry of the Advanced Style party hosted by Ari Seth Cohen and Style Rookie's Tavi Gevinson, but I thought I might share some of the amazing street style I was able to cover while we were there. It was pretty fantastic how people of all ages came together to celebrate style..in style! Everyone there looked fantastic dressed to the nines and it was one Fashion Week event I wont be forgetting any time soon.
Ilona Royce Smithkin's rendition of "La Vie En Rose" was a highlight of the night. Read More
Of course I'm a fan of the collections, but during Fashion Week, I'd say the real action is on the streets. Hordes of stylish attendees coming and going to shows line the sidewalks to Lincoln Center in one unique look after another. Actors, bloggers, models, editors, and even photographers themselves all put on a fashion show of their very own that no one can resist.

This was only my second time ever seeing a show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week so the giddiness, excitement, and newness of everything was definitely still there. Last season, I was lucky enough to see ADAM, but this season, I was beyond excited to see the always elegant Carolina Herrera. Thankfully the show was running a bit late because there was just so much to take in...the lights, the atmosphere, the photographers, the stylish attendees..like oh..I dunno..ANNA freaking WINTOUR. Now we all know BUST is my favorite magazine, but I do enjoy a Vogue every now and then. Read More
If you're looking for new blogs to read or just want some stylish inspiration from bloggers you already love, check out some of these street style pictures from "A Very Stylish Picnic" aka the lovely blogger meetup I attended in Central Park last Saturday. I was pretty excited to meet some of my favorite bloggers and to hang with fellow-lovers of vintage and style. We all came together for a pre-Fashion Week celebration and ate, drank, took lots of pictures, and were serenaded by boys in speedos (wait..what?..yep, it's true). Read More
Working till 8pm at a vintage store in the Village, I stayed dressed up all day and went straight from work to Fashion's Night Out festivities. I don't normally stress about bringing the fashion fun, but I knew people would be dressed to the nines and I wanted to find a middle ground. I probably went through at least 3 outfit changes the night before, trying to take themes, weather, and shoe comfort into consideration. I finally ended up with a look that felt comfortable enough for work and stylish enough to go out and about. Read More
Now available nationwide, Fashion’s Night Out has created a collection of items that includes printed FNO Tees for both men and women, stylish, multi-colored printed T-shirts, cute, everyday kind of totes, and even unisex baseball caps. The best thing about these items though? Forty percent of all proceeds from the FNO collection will go to benefit the NYC Aids Fund. Now those are some T-shirts and accessories I can definitely get behind. I'm especially digging the tote with the brown handles. Read More
Watch models Karen Elson and Raquel Zimmerman awkwardly dance to Pitbull's "I Know You Want Me" dressed head to toe in Lanvin's F/W 2011-2012 collection. This video is amazing on so many levels. The clothes are gorgeous, but I'm really kind of excited to see Karen Elson, one of my favorite models and overall fabulous redheads, shaking her groove thang. Somehow this song reminds me of my attempt to dance hip hop at junior high dances so long ago. I'm glad to know even models look semi awkward dancing to these kind of rump shaker songs. Read More
