Here at BUST, I'm the HBICC (head bitch in charge of coding), and I have two super sidekick interns who are learning to love the machine right along with me. I've loved coding ever since I learned my first programming language back in high school—and that was loooong before the internets—and I've used coding in just about every job I've ever had, whether it was about computers or not (mostly not). And I am on a mission to get more girls and women psyched about progamming. For one thing, it's really fun. (Honestly;it's better than Candy Crush or 2048). Read More

Every year around this time, the feminist-osphere goes all to pieces about how many women's Halloween costumes are all about being sexy (sexy ebola nurse, anyone?), and how many more women will dress up as "sexy cat" this year than, say, Grumpy Cat.
But while I'll admit that the sexy Halloween costume idea is a bit uninspired, I completely understand why women do it. I mean, who can blame them? Halloween is the only day of the year where no one can be slut-shamed. It's a slut-shaming free zone. On Halloween, everyone receives a "Get out of slut-shame free" card. Read More

Is Jeff Goldblum angling to be the next beloved-by-hipsters eccentric movie star, a la Bill Murray? Perhaps. In addition to being a regular on Portlandia, and giving ex-BUST Interns moisties, Goldblum stars in this viral marketing campaign for "smart" GE lightbulbs, in which he proves that he knows how to turn up the ham to 11. Created by the brilliant comedy team Tim and Eric, the video takes Goldblum to the heights of Liberace-like kitsch, with a hot tub and piano kicker that will leave you smiling for days. Read More

On last night's episode of "Sex in the Wild," a 4-part PBS series that investigates the sex lives, mating behaviors, and reproductive systems of a variety of animals, the subject was marsupials. That's right: we learned all about Kangaroo vaginas, Koala penii, and the 4-headed Echidna penis.
But first, a warning: This post (and the show itself) is NSFW: Not Safe for Wussies. If you are easily skeeved out by nature, you might want to move on.

Apparently, this is NOT what a feminist looks like
Oh, Shailene, Shailene, Shailene. We need to talk. The internet is mad at you for saying you're not a feminist in your interview with Time magazine , and we're pretty disappointed, too. I mean, c'mon Shailene. You are smarter than this. You are a thoughtful person. We chose you for the cover of BUST because we wanted to know more about the soon-to-be-a-star hippy girl who was going to play the lead role in Divergent. Did your people not tell you we were a feminist magazine? We are. Read More

These high-def photos of women from almost 100 years ago will raise some questions. Like: How did they did their hair like that??

These photos have so much detail, so much information, spend enough time looking at them and you will really feel like you just took a little trip to the past. Read More
