Un Certain Regard for ‘Precious’

by Jenni Miller

I previously wrote about Sundance sensation Precious a few months ago, and now it’s been announced that it’s going to play at zee most fantastique festival ever, Cannes. In fact, it’s not just playing at Cannes — after all, even Jerry Seinfeld in a bee suit can get press on La Croisette — but it’s the only movie from the U.S. competing for the prestigious “Un Certain Regard” award.

Check out the official line-up at Variety, or read more at the official Cannes website, which will be updated before, during, and after the festival with pictures and video and cool stuff like that. Meanwhile, I’ll be dreaming of Mo’Nique and Mariah rocking the red carpet in just a few weeks.

Precious, previously known as Push: Based on the novel by Sapphire, opens this November.
