Celebrate Americana Music and The Women Who Make It In Brooklyn Next Week

by Lydia Wang

This coming Wednesday, female artists from Jade Bird to Lola Kirke will be performing at the Music Hall of Williamsburg to raise funds for the Americana Music Association. The association, also known as the AMA, aims to work closely with artists and media involved in American Roots music.

The Tribute to Women in Americana benefit also will aim to tackle the gender imbalance within the genre by highlighting an impressive lineup of female artists covering songwriting legends like Dolly Parton and Carole King. The show is also teaming up with another nonprofit, Change the Conversation, which provides eduation, support, and a community for women in the art world.

Grab your tickets here, or at the door – the event will be taking place May 9 at 8 P.M. Rock on, ladies.
