The Distillers’ Brody Dalle Gets Really Real on The Conversation

by Tess Duncan

Hardcore punk idol Brody Dalle has changed a lot since we first met her – the tough, in-your-face musician is now a mom and a wife – and of course, still kicking ass. She gets personal and shares it all on this Saturday’s Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet.

Dalle was destined to be a feminist role model, accompanying her mother to anti-Bush protests, discovering Courtney Love at age 12, and joining a feminist collective before finishing high school. She started her first band, Sourpuss, when she was thirteen and went on to front the epic punk band the Distillers.

Saturday’s episode of The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet will show us a softer side of the rock star. She’s calmed down since starting a family of her own with Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme.

Photographer and former actress Amanda de Cadenet (who you might remember from our April/May 2012 issue) always hosts amazing, inspiring women on The Conversation, so this week’s episode is sure to be no different. Dalle and de Cadenet engage in a thought-provoking chat about their personal experiences with promiscuity, the chaos and vulnerability of being a mother, and never taking no for an answer. Watch the sneak preview of the episode below!
