Small Black. They’re good, but not as good as sweatpants.

by Kelly McClure

So last night I had a free pass to go see Small Black play a show at Music Hall of Williamsburg, but opted to stay home and work on my night cheese instead.  This morning I am riddled with anxiety about having missed it, because I am quickly becoming a massive fan of their melodic Casio stylings. Their debut self-titled EP is set to come out later this month on Jagjaguwar and it’s pretty much a perfect little nugget of lazy keyboards, casual boy singing, and electro thumps. I’m for sure gonna catch them the next time they play, but it better be warm outside, and I better not have a Netflix.
