Sia, Jessica Williams, Leslie Jones Set To Perform At Abortion Rights Event

by Katherine Barner

September 10 will be an exciting day in several major cities across the country. In Cleveland, Miami, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, a free night of music and comedy will be hosted all in the name of access to abortion by everyone thanks to the All Access Coalition, a group of organizations that promote awareness of rights and access to abortion.

The main All Access event is in Cleveland. It’s fitting that the All Access main event is in Ohio,” said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. “This event is an opportunity to stand up and send the message that we’re not going to let politicians continue to decimate people’s access to safe and legal abortion. Since 2010, Ohio has enacted close to 20 anti-women’s health measures, restricting access to abortion and other reproductive health care like STI testing, cancer screenings, an infant mortality prevention program, even sex education,  and placing a gag order on rape crisis counselors.

Sia is set to headline the Cleveland date, and will be joined by Natalia Lafourcade, Leslie Jones, and Jessica Williams as the host. The events in all five cities will be taking place simultaneously. 30 smaller events will also occur across the country  and include everything from dance parties to slam poetry contests, providing abortion rights activists visible and active platforms to speak up.

“All Access is such an inclusive group that I’m proud to be a part of this. We all need to stand together and be a part of creating the future we hope to see. There is so much support out there for an inclusive, equitable society that it’s time we showed our collective power,” said Sia.

Tickets are FREE and can be received at AllAccess2016.com.

More information on additional talent for events in Cleveland, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, and Philadelphia will be announced later this summer.
