Show at Big Sky Works this Saturday!

by Julisa Colón

Big Sky Works, the rad multidisciplinary arts and performance space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is hosting another awesome show this Saturday, January 14th. Beginning at 8:30PM and lasting till 1:00AM, the show brings together a few of the hottest young names in music right now.

On the bill are The Indecent, Big Nils, and Toy Sugar, three teen rock bands that are making big waves in the music scene. The Indecent is set to release their major label debut with Warner Bros. this spring after self-releasing their first album, Her Screwed Up Head. Big Nils is fronted by Coco, daughter of Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth. Fun fact: the band is actually named after a badass ex-punk rocker who was quite tall and allegedly set buildings on fire. Toy Sugar is an awesome all-girl teen band that has played at venues all over NYC and makes music reminiscent of old-school rock n’ roll melodies.

Also performing are DJ Keili, host of Beastin’ the Airwaves!, and award-winning video artist BAMiAM.

The best part? It’s nearly an all-female rock show. I dig it.
