Playboy Answers the Question: Should You Catcall Her?

by Sonia Edwards

I love this. The other day, Shea Strauss, a writer for Playboy, shared a flowchart she created on the magazine’s website—a handy guide to find out whether or not you should catcall a woman.

Turns out, the only time catcalling is okay is if A) she is literally a cat or B) you know her and have “both consensually agreed to shout sexually suggestive comments to each other in public.” AMEN.

Having women on the writing staff at a publication like this one is necessary for creating a hospitable environment for everyone, and will hopefully continue to direct men’s full attention to how problematic things like street harassment really are. Well done, Playboy, well done.
