Hate if you will. But NO ONE is going to persuade me to get in the negativity boat when speaking about Judd Apatow’s recent, hilarious blockbuster Superbad. Anyone who knows me, knows that I drool at the mere thought of Michael Cera and Jonah Hill (the stars who play younger versions of Evan Goldberg and the brilliant Seth Rogen (boners!), who wrote the screenplay and basically anyone connected with the Apatow clan who’s brough us such cult-classic comedies. And while, peeps have been hating on the film because it’s typical "boy chases girl, girl as a sexual target" plotline fails to put strong, smart female characters in the lead in a hot pursuit of fulfilling their sexual fantasies, I’m woman enough to recognize good humor when I see it. And this film is nothing short of genius in matters of hilarity. Boy humor or not. So when a new book from Newmarket Press arrived at the door of our BUST office titled Superbad: The Drawings, chock full of 82 penis illustrations by artist David Goldberg (Evan’s older brother), which appeared during the closing credits of the film and were used in the plot when Seth tells Evan about his compulsion to sit around all day and draw pictures of dicks, I about pee-peed in my panties.
