These Provocative Portraits Celebrate ‘Feral Women’

Feminist photographer and artist Katrina del Mar will premiere a new solo exhibition next month. Titled “Feral Women,” the exhibition shows new and archival work in several different mediums — photo portraits, filmed portraits, black velvet paintings and drawings — that reveals Katrina’s obsession with “women expressing wildness, sometimes overt, sometimes subtle, is a manifestation of innate power. The high hard femme, the bad girl, the rocker, the biker, the surfer-selkie, are icons of a new feminist pantheon.”

You can catch “Feral Women/Filmed Portraits” at New York’s Prince Street Project Space with programming administered by the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art from December 9th through December 11th, 2016, with a few special events listed below.
