CSS and MEN Blog Their Tour for BUST!

by Bridgette Miller

Brazilian punky groovesters CSS (above) are hitting the road with MEN, JD Samson’s disco-flavored post-Le Tigre project/performance art collective (below), and you can bet that butts will be shaking and BUST will be stoked. To celebrate their North American tour together, both bands collaborated on a tour-exclusive, limited-edition split 7” (entitled We Are Friends 7″) featuring original artwork and brand-new remixes of each other’s songs.  And to make this tour even more special, both bands have agreed to blog about it for BUST!  MEN and CSS will swap blogging duties to bring you stories and photos from the road, and will be giving away tickets to their upcoming shows in select cities.

Both bands are badass in their own respects, so we’re excited to see what will happen when they join forces. I can’t imagine it will be anything less than a revolution– not televised, of course, but live-blogged and sweat-soaked.  After all, MEN seek to explore “the radical potential of dance music” by layering lyrics about sexual politics over infectious, funk-ified beats, and CSS (which stands for “Cansei de Ser Sexy,” or “tired of being sexy”) employ their brand of reggae-tinged electro-rock to great effect.  Get warmed up with CSS’s “How to Dance Tutorial” video for “Hits Me Like a Rock:”

And marvel at JD Samson’s moves in MEN’s scorching-hot “Off Our Backs” video:
