April Showers getting you down? Brighten up your spring, by wearing one of Dutch artist’s, Sander Reijgers, new hoodies made from recycled sex toys! Using patches of rubber, from what seems to be mainly from blow up dolls, these hoodies are seriously weird. Seeing the dolls gaping mouths hanging out of the back of a hood is mildly disturbing, but also strangely, pop art like.
The entire effect is very colorful, and pretty silly. I could see some sneaker-heads rocking these hoodies with some brightly colored kicks. Made out of rubber, these hoodies do seem perfect for keeping dry in this wet weather, and since they’re recycled they support our ecosystem. Go green! Wear old blow up dolls!
Reijgers says that his goals for the hoodies are to “”remove the sexual function of the dolls by turning them into a jacket or a bag. In this way, the doll can ‘feel’ by performing a normal day-to-day task, rather than through sex.”
