Our favorite show is on its way to making their fourth season, and it’s looking classier than ever. In a tweet yesterday, the Broad City stars showed themselves in elegant gowns announcing the start of filming season four. Via Twitter/@broadcity While the show has been thriving on Comedy Central and has a strong fanbase, creators and stars Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson say they’re not so sure they want to keep the show going for too long. Jacobson told Entertainment Weekly,  “I would never want it to go on too...
Saturday Night Live hasn’t been shy about their criticism of Trump, with Alec Baldwin doing a tremendous Trump impression, but this week the SNL cast brought in Melissa McCarthy to spice things up. This week’s skit focused on press secretary Sean Spicer, and McCarthy did not hold back. Just the image of Melissa McCarthy in a neatly swept wig and suit, waving fingers and plowing gum into her mouth (in true Spicer fashion), was enough to leave you laughing. McCarthy was sure to add in some...
As if we weren’t already counting the days until April 26th, the new trailer for The Handmaid’s Tale has us more excited than ever for its release on Hulu. The trailer for the new TV series aired during the Super Bowl last night and it was way too real. In the new trailer we meet Offred, played by Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss, and The Commander, played by Joseph Fiennes. “We only wanted to make the world better," he tells her, but “better never means better for...

If you can’t find the appeal in watching men in tight pants chase each other for five hours straight while playing a game with rules you don’t understand, fret not! Those in charge of television programming know that not everyone loves football, so they’re hooking you up with a Sunday of binge watching: we’re talking marathons of mind-numbing reality shows, movie after movie on Comedy Central and nearly 24 hours of The Walking Dead. TV Guide is brimming with possibilities of how to spend your...

Added to the list of things too dirty for network TV is, apparently, period sex. The CW refused to air a scene in Rachel Bloom’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend that featured a ballad dedicated to period sex. The show is no stranger to hot-topic feminist issues and often covers them with humor and wit. Rachel Bloom, the writer, co-star and creator of the show, tweeted about the song and the CW’s refusal to air it — she, of course, posted the song and music video online instead. Via...
We were all wondering when Jon Stewart would come out of hiding and unleash his brand of rage onto the new order we find ourselves in, and what better podium for him to deliver his slapstick satire than next to his former correspondent Colbert? Last night on The Late Show, Colbert pulled out a USA Today which read: “10 DAYS, 20 EXECUTIVE ORDERS” Jon marches in wearing what he describes his new style — inspired by the president — as “super long tie, dead animal on head.” A...

I used to lay in my sister's bed and watch re-runs of The Mary Tyler Moore Show on Nick at Nite. It was in the '90s and I had yet to reach my 10th birthday. I remember thinking, I can't believe women would wear so much orange! I also remember thinking, Mary Richards is the coolest woman on the planet. I used to lay in my college dorm bed and watch Romy and Michele's High School Reunion on my laptop. It was the 2000s and I...
Each year, the White House Correspondents’ Association holds a highly publicized dinner to honor journalists and the First Amendment – an act we must not take for granted, as it may soon be punishable by law (unless you’re Fox News). While a to-be-announced comedic entertainer (either a D-list celebrity or someone who really enjoys a good stay at Trump hotels) hosts the official dinner, Samantha Bee, comedian and host of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, will be putting on her own event, called “Not the White...

Via Twitter/@Tom_Bergeron 2017 has taken its first entertainment great-- Mary Tyler Moore has died today, age 80. Moore was most famous for her groundbreaking show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, one of TV’s first and most famous portrayals of a happy, single, career-driven female character. The show, which launched in 1971, starred Moore as television producer and career-woman Mary Richards, paving the way for shows like 30 Rock, Sex and the City, and Ally McBeal. But the show’s impact was on more than just the sitcoms to follow....
Fresh Off the Boat’s Constance Wu Takes Hollywood to Task Constance Wu is fearless. Even in an industry in which Asian-American actors are so underrepresented that her ABC comedy, Fresh Off the Boat, is only the second sitcom ever to focus on an Asian-American family, Wu is famously outspoken around issues
of diversity in Hollywood. Speaking on the phone from her home in L.A. during a rare break from filming Fresh Off the Boat’s third season, the 34-year-old laughs when asked about critics who’ve suggested that...
