Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to Honor Carol Burnett with Top Humor Award

We all know our girls Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are today’s queens of humor, satire, and hilarious social commentary that deals with women’s issues. But who did this kind of work before them? What female comedian was around for the Women’s Liberation and all that cool stuff? Why, Carol Burnett, of course!

And now Fey and Poehler have the chance to honor this iconic lady by presenting her with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, the most prestigious humor award around. The prize will be granted in our nation’s capital at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts by not only Tina and Amy but also by Julie Andrews and Tony Bennett. Maya Rudolf, Lucie Arnaz, and Martin Short will also be there to celebrate the groundbreaking work of Ms. Burnett!

Burnett will be honored with this award in Washington, D.C. on October 20th, and the show will air on all PBS stations November 24th. Today’s a great day to be a funny lady!

Watch Burnett’s progressive, absurd, and totally hilarious Snow White spoof below to get a feel of her boldness in ridiculing expectations of both women and men in American society.
