Taylor Swift saw you talking to her boyfriend last night, and she just thinks that was really uncool of you. And if you ever want to land a member of One Direction, you’re gonna have to stop wearing such short skirts. Also, if you’re a cheerleader you’re automatically a whore (in case you were wondering).

Professional pissed off ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift already incited feminist ire last October, when she failed to identify herself as a feminist in a Daily Beast interview. Instead, she told readers that, “I don’t really think about things as guys versus girls.” Thanks for clearing that up, Tay! As if her iffy understanding of feminism wasn’t enough, Swift’s repeated acoustic girl-on-girl crimes have proven that she doesn’t think very highly of other girls. In fact, Taylor has basically made a career of condemning sluts and teaching fans that the sweet, conservative, virginal girl will always get the guy.

Her Campus article on Taylor Swift’s penchant for slut-shaming contends, “The Queen of Wholesome often employs guilt-mongering tactics to put down the mean girl/cheerleader types who, she assures us, are more sexual than her.” In the music video for “You Belong With Me,” Taylor’s nemesis is the popular, flirty cheerleader who wears revealing clothes and probably puts out. Taylor’s would-be bf is so distracted by this girl’s French kissing skills that he fails to notice the shy, beautiful, virginal princess who has always loved him! In the end Taylor beats the slut and gets the boy. Yay?

Almost every Taylor Swift song similarly plays up the Madonna/Whore complex. In “Better Than Revenge,” Swift goes to town on the slut who, you guessed it, totally stole her boyfriend. “She's an actress/But she's better known for the things that she does on the mattress,” is just one of the sweet things Taylor has to say about this unnamed vixen. Of course, Taylor is implying that she would never use sex to get a guy; she’s a good girl. Hit her up, boys!

The fact that Swift tries to make the rest of us look like whores in order to render herself more perfect in comparison wouldn’t be so concerning if she didn’t have an international platform on which to do so. By crying slut, Swift is telling all her young fans that slut-shaming is the way to go. If your boyfriend is cheating on you, the popular girl probably seduced him. And if no one is paying attention to you, start writing self-indulgent songs about the perfect boys who fall for you and the whores who have wronged you. You’ll probably become an instant international sensation.
