On September 5th, “Desperate Housewives” actress Eva Longoria will be receiving this year’s Hispanic Heritage Award, as presented by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. After winning gold medals in the World Track and Field Championship in Moscow, Russian athletes, Kseniya Ryzhova and Tatyana Firova, kissed on the winners podium. However, Russian officials have been speculating if the kiss was just plain ‘ole sportsmanship, or “gay propaganda.”
Once the two won the 4x400 relay, photos of Ryzhova and Firova showed them hugging and pecking on the track. But the runners made heads turn after kissing on the ... Read More
The weight loss and nutrition company Jenny Craig is starting to drop some of their celebrity endorsers and is going to launch a new animated advertising campaign. I am ECSTATIC about this, and let me tell you why: I'm SO tired of seeing celebs, mostly women celebs at that, push ordinary people to change their lives on the basis that they did it themselves. If Carrie Fisher can do it, then so can I? Please! I mean, have you seen that Kardashian QuickTrim TV ... Read More
Stop the tennis ball machine, and hold the rackets 'cause Marion Bartoli is retiring :’(
This is seriously some sad news, 'cause she’s such a great tennis player. The 28-year-old French player tearfully called the game quits this past Wednesday night. Her body aching after a brutal loss, Bartoli said that she can’t deal with the constant pain that she experiences on the tennis court. During a press conference at the Western & Southern Open, ... Nina Siahkali Moradi, a 27-year-old architecture graduate student, recently won a seat on the Qazvin, Iran, City Council. Moradi received 10,000 votes, making her the fourteenth most popular of the 163 candidates that ran. However, the electoral candidate has been barred from taking her seat because of her good looks.
Yep, I’m not making this stuff up; she was disqualified because of her looks.

It’s safe to say that Netflix's Orange is The New Black has taken over my life. It’s okay; the first step is always admitting you have a problem, and I’m an OITNB addict. I’m at the point of wanting to read the real Piper Chapman’s (who’s actually Piper Kerman IRL) actual ... Read More

Holy knit! The Andy Warhol Bridge is covered in beautiful yarn! This past weekend, more than 1,800 volunteer knitters covered Pittsburgh, PA’s Warhol Bridge in 580 blanket-sized panels of yarn. In total, volunteers used up about 3,000 feet in vibrant yarn, which feature an array of colorful designs. The hand-knit panels cover the pedestrian walkway of the downtown Pittsburgh bridge and larger knit panels cover the bridge’s towers.
A few of the panels ... Read More
In The New York Times’ recent Social Q’s, a New York City mom wrote in about a dilemma facing her daughter and a birthday party. Her daughter was invited to a five-year-old’s superhero themed birthday party, but then she was un-invited. Instead, she was invited to a separate birthday party, which is just for girls. Here’s the question below:
We received a "save the date" card for a fifth birthday party for a boy my daughter knows. It was to ... Read More
Okay, so Drunk History on Comedy Central is probably my new favorite show. I can’t watch even one segment without laughing to tears. It began as a Funny or Die series, which was created by Jeremy Konner and Derek Waters. What makes Drunk History so funny is the fact that they enlist actors to re-tell historical events, while being incredibly intoxicated. This show is majorly awesome!
Part of the hilarity is that the actors aren’t exactly accurate ... Read More
Just 10 hours ago, Beyoncé Knowles debuted (via her Instagram) her new look to the world: a short, blonde pixie cut. I’m really diggin this cut, y’all, 'cause it’s nothing really over the top, but it IS just perfect for her face. I mean, Queen B looks great in anything, and this haircut is super cute! While some fans aren’t as enthusiastic about her cut, and keep referring to Miley Cyrus’s head-turning pixie, I think it looks great on her!
