Animated movies usually revolve around cute talking animals and macho heroes, but lately, ladies seem to be taking over the genre. Brave knocked fellow animated film Madagascar 3 off its pedestal at the top of box office last week--the former earned $66.3 million in the USA alone. This week, the international trailer for Epic (the 2013 animated flick from the creators of Ice Age) was released, and it looks like the movie may live up to its title.

With voice-acting from Amanda Seyfried, Beyoncé, and Josh Hutcherson, the film follows a teen girl, Mary Katherine (Seyfried), who’s been magically transported to a forest. Obviously, the battle of good-vs-evil ensues and she must save the forest, and the world, from destruction. Although the plot may sound stock, the imagery isn’t--Epic looks breathtaking and also features an amazing score. We're circling May 17, 2013 on our calendars right now.
