CoverGirl’s newest model is easy, breezy, beautiful – and bald. 13-year-old Talia Castellano is a cancer patient whose makeup tutorials have made her a YouTube star.

Talia first fell in love with makeup when she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of seven. As she grew older, she began sharing her love and knowledge in YouTube makeup tutorials. She uses makeup to make her feel beautiful.

“When I have on a wig I feel, not fake, just not me,” she said. “When I put on makeup I feel like I can embrace those features that I really like about myself. I feel if someone’s looking at me, they’re looking at my makeup, not looking at my bald head. I am just trying to make young girls, young adults, adults, anyone feel beautiful by using makeup.”

Talia learned that she would become an honorary CoverGirl when she met her idol (and fellow CoverGirl) Ellen DeGeneres last month. On October 17, CoverGirl released a campaign-style image of Talia.

Talia is currently in the hospital fighting two kinds of cancer, but she’s still making YouTube videos that show off her makeup skills and her bubbly, unbeatable spirit. You can watch them here.
