Today marks the 85th anniversary of the Martha Graham Dance Company, and to celebrate, they will be performing seven of her most famous works at the Rose Theater in Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center. Tonite’s opening performance includes a revival of Robert Wilsons Snow on the Mesa (1995), and Maple Leaf Rag (1990) the last dance choreographed by Graham before her death at the age of 97 in 1991. There will be more performances every night until March 19th, including classics like Cave of the Heart (1947) and Appalachian Spring (1947). These much anticipated dances are not to be missed, as Graham is perhaps one of America’s most celebrated pioneers in modern dance.
