CatLady, do you have dates? I might be around, but I might not, as I'm on a fieldtrip for uni for several days at the start of march...

Yup smile.gif. I live there now and don't have any plans yet to be out of the city, for a few months at least.

Since sybarite has been dangling the carrot about coming over, perhaps she could make it at the same time? *hint hint*

I'm planning a trip to Brighton/Southampton for March or April. Any suggestions on things I should see, places I should go?

Well, the first thing you should do is get in touch with me, as I live in Worthing, which is right near Brighton, and I have many friends in Southampton and go there a fair bit. It depends what you're into, Brighton is a really fun place and is kind of 'something for everyone', Southampton isn't as pretty but is definitely a good place for a crazy night out! PM me and I'll give you a few suggestions.

I am jobless and consequently very poor just now but will take you up on a night out once things improve, if the offer is still open.

Okey-dokey, will let you know. And if any London busties ever fancy going along to a beginners session with the London Rollergirls, send me a PM (as I am a big wuss and will chicken out without back-up). They have these on the first Saturday of every month (but I can't make it this Saturday), looks like they vary the venues, and you need a bit of kit to join (I'm going to call home and find out if my old rollerskates are still in the attic!).

Anyone fancy a night out next weekend? Time Out listings for then aren't up yet, but there seem to be loads of cool/cheap events happening at the moment (judging by the free papers). I'm in east london (which has some excellent late-night bars....) but can happily get to most areas.

Yes, absolutely! I can't do this weekend but am free after that.

They haven't posted the location for the roller derby match yet, but I've joined their mailing list and will let you know.

Ah, I'd love to join you at the roller derby. (I really want to take it up, but I'm drawing a blank finding anyone in Brighton that's interested, and I can't afford to go up and down from London all the time for practices etc) Unfortunately, I just booked a trip to Leeds for that weekend. Which I'm pretty excited about, I must say, I get to see some mates I don't see very often, plus shopping, plus cocktails, plus yummy yummy Northern boys! But let me know if you make it a regular thing.

So, are we having a UK (& Ireland) BUSTie get together in London this month? C'mon, you know you wanna...

Yay, my mum bought me the cross-stitch book (and was most amused!).

Does anyone fancy going to see some roller derby? I've never been to a match but it looks cool - the next match listed on the London Rollergirls site is on 7th Feb.

Happy 2009, and hope you all have a great night tonight! biggrin.gif

Thanks mornington! I've added it to my amazon wishlist - bargain at £7.19, and hopefully my family will be ticking lots of things off the list this month....

I *wanted* some of those plimsoles... I might have to get a pair online (although G picked up their card... maybe he'll do the goodies for chrimbo). On the x-stitch, have you tried looking for the subversive cross-stitch book ? - I got mine in borders, but amazon is a better bet. They have good patterns and you can go from there (and yeah, I thought £18 was a bit steep).

And you were right about holland&barrett. That's christmas presents sorted...

Sadly I didn't meet up with anyone either - I got there around 3 (much earlier than planned!) and stayed for about an hour.

I bought 3 pairs of the earrings made from vintage buttons (2 pairs as presents and 1 for me!), a pair of customised plimsolls, a flowery button, and a sock-monster keyring. And a cupcake! I planned to buy lots of presents but ended up mostly buying things for me rolleyes.gif I was very tempted by the 'Bollocks!' cross-stitch kit, but £18 seemed a bit expensive.
