car for women

Hey ladies, tired of having to drive around in your man cars day in and day out? Well, car manufacturer SEAT has teamed up with Cosmopolitan to find the solution. During London Fashion Week, the companies unveiled the Seat Mii by Cosmopolitan, a brand new "car for women."

The Seat Mii has everything female drivers have been missing; jewel-effect rims, a handbag hook, and "eyeliner headlights," which accentuate the lights in the same way makeup would a woman's eye. (Still unclear if car eyeliner will be sold separately for when your Seat Mii needs a retouch after a long day.) The car also appears to only come in purple, you know, a girl color.

SEAT released this image of the car's premiere during the Cosmopolitan fashion show, in which —yes, you're seeing that right — a man is driving, because they couldn't trust a woman to drive the woman car.

Twitter backlash to the gender stereotyped vehicle was immediate and did not disappoint:

tweet steering wheel

tweet no more walking

tweet 1950 roadtrip

Ellen DeGeneres also got in on the criticism during her show on Tuesday, quipping, "How are they expecting women to go out and buy these cars when they know the husband handles all the money?"

You can buy your car for women starting early in 2017, just as long as you're signing on the dotted line with your "Bic for Her" pen.
