NYC Popfest was this past weekend and it was filled with fun, friends, pop songs, and dance parties. Amongst a sea of cardigans, glasses and plaid, a few pop kids pulled out all the stops from fancy dresses to YSL tees. The key was to be comfortable enough to dance like no tomorrow, but still put some effort in. Everyone looked adorable as ever. I'll soon be making a "Pop Bands to Look Out For" post, but for now enjoy the stylish attendees and band members of ... Read More
From vendors to attendees, the BUST Craftacular crowd was indeed a stylish bunch. My head was turning every which way from fancy jewelry and vintage clothes to vegan treats and cupcakes galore, but once I looked away from the goodies, I noticed style everywhere! It was a gorgeous, sunny day and that brought tons of gals with bright, colorful dresses and cute, interesting accessories. I hope all you fancy kids out there had a blast, I know I sure did!

Though her outfits are plain fabulous, Gala Darling is much more than just a style blog. She is a positive force of energy in the uncertain World Wide Web. Whether through her fashionable, fun ensembles or her Radical Self Love Series, "Love and Sequins" (sort of self help for those who hate "self help"), Gala Darling is one of the most positive forces out there. I like that she actually has fun with her fashion (sequins and glitter are always a plus!). My other ... Read More
There's style everywhere you look in New York City, from walking around Soho and drinking on the Lower East Side to shopping in Williamsburg and eating in Queens, which is all the different places I found these stylish gals. NYC definitely carries a stylish crowd and that's one of my favorite things about this city. From dressing up to dressing down, there's always something different in the mix.

Coming up this June 16th, Best Coast and Those Darlins will be playing a Planned Parenthood of New York City Action Fund benefit! Now only are we big fans of both bands over here at BUST, this is a cause that has been and stays near and dear our hearts. Personally, when my insurance decided not to cover birth control unless for medical reasons (versus my “crazy and wild” sex life), Planned Parenthood was there to provide birth control I could afford. ... There are awesome new fashion, design and food blogs every day. It’s hard to keep up quite honestly! Whenever I find a new blog I adore, I just want to share it with the world so I’ve decided to start a “blog of the week.” Most will probably be of the fashion variety, but there are tons of great general design and food blogs to showcase as well (evidenced by all the awesome food bloggers in this month’s issue).

Only my second fashion show to date, the 2011 BFA Parsons Fashion Show was certainly an exciting one! This is a show that has previously help launch the careers of designers such as Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler at one of the most renowned fashion schools in the world. Other designer alums include Anna Sui, Narciso Rodriguez, Peter Som, and host/speaker of the event, Reed Krakoff. As the show began, I felt like I was bombarded with fashion, my head ... Read More
Yesterday, I was lucky enough to attend Parsons The New School For Design's BFA Fashion Show where I saw fashion galore! A more detailed post about some of the designers featured will soon be coming up, but for now, enjoy some of the super stylish audience members who attended. From stylish students and family to various media and press, you'd think it was Fashion Week the way audience members brought their own style to the mix.

My favorite festival out there, NYC Popfest, is coming up this May 19th-22nd, Thursday-Sunday for their exciting 5th year anniversary! Since 2007, NYC Popfest has brought New York City some of the best indie, twee, fuzzy, and jangly pop acts around. From past year's The Pains of Being Pure At Heart and The Drums to the lesser known, but certainly buzzworthy bands, Allo Darlin' and Cats On Fire, the collaborators certainly know how to pick 'em!

I previously blogged about the opening of the Alexander McQueen exhibit and the fashion extravaganza that is the Met Gala, but the exhibit itself deserves an entry all its own. There are people who are undeservingly called “genius” and “true artist” once they’ve died, but Alexander McQueen was not one of them. From day one, McQueen was a breath of fresh air in the fashion industry, one for the books I’d say. Since his death in ... Read More
