Herkelman and fellow Ottumwa sophomore Megan Black made history this year by becoming the first two female wrestlers ever to quality fort the state's wrestling championships. Black lost her first match, but Herkelman succeeded  in pinning her opponent and will ... Read More
I love a good dis battles. It's a spectacle of both ribaldry and talent that is sweeter than the normal tabloid infused Pitt-Jole-Aniston love triangle, because the participants of the rivalry actually partake in the dissin' and the audience gets to cheer and boo from the internet sidelines. Plus, we get to invest in a love or hate fan relationship that, if lucky, can last us a life time. I still draw lines when it comes to MC Lyte and Antoinette , and that ... Read More
You know how some days you just don't want to get out of your bed? And you're like, ah, if only I could take my bed with me? And then the snuggie came along and you were like 'finally!' and wore it on the subway, and to work, and out to the bar and then no one bought you a drink because the snuggie was just not showing off your figure enough? No fear. The form fitting ONE PIECE is here.  Like the Royal Wedding, the ONE PIECE is a big deal in the UK; with ... Read More
BUST kicked off the V-day (Valentine's? Vagina?) early this year with the launch party for our SEX issue last Thursday!  The Delancey was bumping! You may recognize tUnE-yArDs' song "Fiya" as that charming ukulele-plucking track from that blackberry commercial, or you might've seen her steal the show from the Dirty Projectors back in 2009, or maybe you saw her in the USA-Montreal-Toronto trio Sister Suvi a couple years back. but maybe all that flew under your radar. The new Jezebel lay-out confuses me. I'm not sure where to look or why there's a huge picture in the middle of my screen and not a bunch of little pictures with funny headlines. Why, Jezebel, why? Luckily, my friend Alex sent me this handy-dandy link that lets you view Jezebel in its old, tried and true, lay out. Use it or lose it, ... Read More

Author HEY! from the blog you're welcome has written a really touching and strikingly readable post on why she's fat positive. It's practically a mini-manifesta. Here's an excerpt: "When I tell people I’m fat, the most common reaction is panic: they assume I’m calling myself ugly, and they feel pressured or compelled to disabuse me of that notion. But people clearly notice my size all the time. Servers at restaurants notice it when they seat me. ... Read More
I wasn't expecting to love ex-X-Ray Spex’s Poly Styrene's new release, My Virtual Boyfriend, quite as much as I do. By the unfortunate mathematics of aging and rock'n'roll, it's rare that a past their prime rocker releases new and relevant material. The fireball that is Ms. Poly Styrene has failed to disappoint. The single is a far cry from the fierce caterwaul of 1977's Oh Bondage! Up Yours!.  The energy's different: it's frenetic, disorganized, and ... Read More
