It’s amazing what a little Photoshop can do to a picture. I always thought this was a recent phenomenon, but I guess I never really put much thought into why pin-up girls always looked so damn fabulous. Seems to me like these images were Photoshopped before Photoshop even existed. Before airbrushing there was paint brushing! Either way these gorgeous ladies are working it! Jay-z's new blog is LEGIT. The aesthetically pleasing front page makes it's content easy to browse. The photographs are pristine, the articles are attention grabbing and interesting and the candid interview with Gwyneth Paltrow where she reveals her secret love of gangster rap is totally adorable. "I went to LA the summer between my junior and senior year of high school and i discovered N.W.A which became my obsession." The first thing I noticed about the movie Some Days Are Better Than Others, is that no one's seemed to have heard of it. When I brought the screener disc over to a friend's house for movie night it was met with, "huh?" and "ohhhh, I think I remember hearing about that" but no one had any idea what the movie was about, and you know what, we kind of still don't. I’ve seen some bad crafty pieces in my time (Regretsy anyone?), but this is definitely not one of them. This Portland-based artist deserves a medal for the meticulous work she puts into her gorgeous crochet pieces. She does amazing, detailed face paintings and city drawings as well, but it’s her crochet works of faces and cityscapes that are really special.
