We were browsing the World Wide Webternets today, on the hunt for some rad swimsuits for our June/July issue, when we came across a face that looked familiar on TheGiantPeach.com. That surly twinkle in the eye, those cartoony tattoos, that two-tone hair—this model is most definitely West Coast rapper Kreayshawn! (Compare her tattoos above with those in the below photo, for extra proof.) She’s clearly come a long way since this photo, especially in terms of her body modifications, but we’d recognize this adorable thug anywhere. Read More

One of my favorite Fashion Week events had to be Lulu's Style Studio, where bloggers from all over gathered to mingle, shop, and eat cupcakes in style. It was an ultra-stylish party, and I was able to snap shots of some of my favorite looks as everyone walked around. Read More

Some women dread getting older. They dig their spindly fingers into their youth and refuse to let go. This has never been my outlook; I personally can't wait to be old and awesome. In fact, I spend a large portion of my time contemplating which eccentricities I'll adopt later in life. Maybe I'll be that lady who takes her cats for walks on leashes. Maybe I'll dress entirely in shades of orange. Maybe I'll decide corn rows would be a good look for me after all. Who knows? Only time will tell. Read More
Whether I'm going to shows or eyeing collections from the comfort of the Internet, I still get giddy every time Fashion Week rolls around. From the street style and celebrities to the runway shows themselves, everything about the week is thrilling! This year I was lucky enough to see Christian Siriano's collection for Fall 2012.
I had the full fashion experience. Right before the show started, I was washing my hands in the bathroom next to a woman in a lovely, bright fucshia dress (A Siriano, of course). Read More

We were saddened to hear of the passing of the wonderful Zelda Kaplan today, at the age of 95. Zelda has been a fixture on the nightlife scene in New York for years, and was beloved by anyone that ever saw her in her brightly colored African print outfits and large dark sunglasses. She was involved in charities to raise awareness of female genital mutilation, and women's rights in Africa and was much loved by fashionistas everywhere. Read More

So I have this insignificance of an Afro that I am trying to grow out, Angela Davis-style. Lately, though, I have been getting tired of looking at it. It's not that I hate it---I love my hair---but I have dyed it every color you can think of and I'm looking for something different and fun for the rest of the winter.
Ever watch Poetic Justice? You know, the movie where Tupac and Janet Jackson make an intense love connection? Well, Ms. Jackson--cause I'm nasty--has these beautiful braid extensions in her head. Read More
There are various opinions on the day that is Valentine's Day, but me? I love it. I like hearts. I like candy. I like the color pink. I'm all for it. I'm also all for post-Valentine's Day candy sales (yum!). I think Valentine's Day is as good a day as any to spread a little love in the world, whether that means sending your bestie surprise macaroons from the macaroon queen, buying yourself a little "something something," spending quality time with your bf/gf, or just smiling to strangers a bit more (not in a creepy way). Unless you've been living under a fashion rock, you've probably heard about Target's newest designer collaboration with Jason Wu. It's cute, sophisticated and hits stores this Sunday, February 5th! The collection has gotten quite a bit of buzz in the past month for its French new-wave-inspired dresses and wonderfully charming accessories. I thought I'd share the adorable new commercial featuring a cartoon cat named Milu. Read More

Until yesterday, I didn't know that camel toe was a problem that you needed a product to solve, but if you've been wondering how to stop your clothes from displaying your crotch crack, the Smoothgroove is here! Fashionista is reporting---with an understandable tinge of disbelief---that the front-wedgie-eliminating wonder (created by a woman named Susan Laurie) is finally available for purchase. SmoothGroove is like a sports cup that covers the vulva to make it look smooth and even. The cup is made of medical grade polymer that forms to your shape. Read More

I'm coveting at least four of these iPhone cases by Brooklyn-based illustrator Sirin Thada. I first saw her art on Tumblr a few months ago, and was struck by her sense of humor (the "Animal Print" drawing was the first thing I saw). All of her designs have that same playfulness, cute but not too cutesy.
The only problem is that I don’t have an iPhone yet ─ I still have this stupid old sliding-keyboard dumbphone. It’s barely a step up from two rusty tin cans and a waxed string, and it draws jeers from my peer group. Read More
