Fighting It, a feature documentary that chronicles filmmaker Jill Morley as she her trains to compete in the New York Golden Gloves, is in its final production stages. The film follows Morley's struggles both inside and out of the ring and explores how boxing ties into larger issues in her life. Morley features the struggles of other female boxers as well in order to show the many reasons women are drawn to the sport and how it is more than just a sport to many. ... Read More
In a move that must be doing wonders for sales, Lane Bryant's new lingerie ads have been banned from the airwaves by ABC television. Reps for the company claim that network execs deemed the commercials too sexy to run, which is kind of unbelievable since they've had no qualms showing Victoria's Secret ads in the past. If you didn’t catch Glee (or aren’t a fan, somehow) last night, you missed an awesome episode. And I say that as an admitted flip-flopping fan of the FOX show. Something about the Material Girl’s spirit really translated in the show, making for a female-empowering hour of song and dance.
