SXSW-featured musician and BUST favorite Zola Jesus will be on Conan O’Brien tonight! Huzzah. After a European tour earlier this year and a stint at the Guggenheim, ZJ will grace our television screens performing with Brooklyn hip-hop star El-P. The two will definitely be playing something from El-P’s newest solo album, Cancer 4 Cure. The rapper announced his on-air collaboration with ZJ via Twitter saying “tomorrow I'm on Conan with the squad and Zola Jesus. day after that la.” He then tweeted a picture of a very sullen looking Zola a few hours later. Growing up in the late 60s, one of my feminist heroes was Batgirl from the Batman TV show. The character Barbara Gordon,  librarian by day, quickly morphed into her alter ego Batgirl when trouble arose.
