We love Portlandia, so we were tickled by the new Entertainment Weekly-exclusive short Portlandia: Deam of the 1890s. I wonder how they get through their takes, 'cause I can't hold back the laugh-tears. I especially love Fred Armisen's faux-bearded face in this one, and Carrie is as hilarious as ever. This could easily apply to Brooklyn, too. Go ahead, watch:
It's as if President McKinley never got assassinated.

The BUST office has been all a-giggles at this clip from The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Apparently, Kristen Bell---star of Veronica Mars and Forgetting Sarah Marshall ---is in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with sloths; so when her boyfriend (Dax Shepard) surprised her on her 31st birthday with Bimbo the Sloth, this happened:

As a kid, I never really understood the appeal of paper dolls. I needed a toy that could survive my rough and tumble antics at playtime, and the wispy slips of people-paper just couldn't keep up. In my tiny yet destructive hands, paper dolls easily (and often) became confetti.
Since I've grown up (I guess... I'm taller now, at least) I've mellowed out a little and have taken to watching online TV as an alternative to destroying my belongings. My newest Netflix ... Read More
Voice-of-my-generation Lena Dunham, the creator/star of the relatable flick Tiny Furniture, has something new to be proud of. She wrote and produced the upcoming HBO television series, Girls, set to premiere April 15, 2012. As everyone and their mom knows by now, the "Shit Girls Say" series started an internet revolution when a dude posing as a lady made a video of all the ridiculous and hilarious things girls (allegedly) say. Ever since the first episode went viral, there have been countless shiz-talking adaptations, with new videos popping up all over the place. Just when you thought the trend had finally been laid to rest, NBC decided to release their very own "Shit Liz Lemon ... Read More

I know Toddlers & Tiaras is messed up. I know! It goes against so many of my core beliefs as a feminist. I shouldn't feed into a society that gussies up children in layers and layers of makeup, spray tans, and false teeth. Not to mention the problematic revealing costumes and way-too-mature dance routines. But every once in a while, I have to watch, because hot damn those kids say the darndest things about pizza and cats. And I don't care what anybody says: ... Read More

Last night, the BUST staffers had a Ladies Night Out at the premiere party for Portlandia’s season 2. We have huge TV crushes on the IFC hit, and the second season way exceeded our expectations. The two new eps we watched at the party were packed with delightfully insane jokes, new characters (FYI, “We can pickle that!” is the new “Put a bird on it!”), and old pals like the aggressive bike messenger and feminist-bookstore owners. The blowout was held at ... Read More
