  Fox News contributor Liz Trotta recently spewed a very hateful and contemptible rant against women in the military that will leave you angered and confused. When asked to comment on changes in the Pentagon's policies towards women that may put them in jobs closer to the front line of warfare, Trotta thought it was a great opportunity to re-victimize victims of military rape, hint that sexual abuse is expected in the military, and blame "the feminists" for federal overspending: ...And the feminists have also directed them, really, to spend a lot of money. Earlier today the White House announced a new compromise on the controversial Affordable Care Act. In a press conference, President Obama announced a change of course meant to satiate embroiled Catholics and conservatives who felt elements of the new law were a violation of conscience. Namely, the part where employers (even those with religious affiliations) must provide employees with insurance including contraceptives.  "No woman's health should depend on who she is or where she works," President Obama said. Yesterday the Pentagon announced new measures that will bring women serving in the military closer to combat than ever before. With the new policy implemented, women will be able to fill thousands of jobs, including medics, intelligence officers, and helicopter pilots, previously reserved for men only. Women have been allowed to serve in these positions at the brigade level since 1994, but this new policy assigns women to the battalion level, which is much smaller and more likely to see direct combat.
