In case you guys missed the MTV movie awards (I did, there was a Law & Order marathon and then Girls was on, so I was all booked up), one very significant thing happened outside of a bunch of celebrities taking home a bunch more awards: The Perks of Being a Wallflower trailer happened.   Starring Emma Watson, Nina Dobrev, Mae Whitman, and the relatively unknown Logan Lerman as everyone's favorite antisocial protagonist Charlie, the film has big shoes to fill. It seems to be that we're being bombarded by trailers lately. First it was The Great Gatsby courtesy of Baz Luhrman, and now it's Tom Hooper's Les Misérables. The film stars Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway, and leads me to wonder exactly how much flack Anne will catch for this one. People have been kind of down on Anne ever since she hosted the Academy Awards with James Franco.   We're very curious about a controversial new documentary (opening in the U.S. this weekend) that shines a critical light on the Big Pink. Pink Ribbons, Inc., directed by Léa Poole, investigates the charity-corporation machines that have risen out of the fight against breast cancer. Despite the billions of dollars that have been raised over the years, cancer rates have also risen to a staggering 1 in 8 women. The film, based on Samantha King's 2008 book by the same name, focuses on activists as well as women battling the disease. Read More
