We've all lost a great talent today, Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London home. While it does not come as a surprise to most, it is still shocking that someone so young and so clearly gifted is gone. I didn't know Amy, but did work with her once back in 07 on her press tour for Back in Black during a photoshoot for BUST.  When that record came to our office, it was just so superior to anything we'd heard in years, and it was instantly loved by everyone. After their newfound label Touch and Go was forced to downsize, the band had to search for a new home as well as a new organist. On their second album, Two-Way Mirror (Recreation Ltd.), the band sounds fully adjusted and ready to focus on their music—label and member drama be damned. The Brooklyn-based indie pop group has launched a Kickstarter fundraiser so they can record their first full album, which Kate Nash will be producing. They’re writing and recording ten original tracks as well as some covers for the album. They also need funds to shoot the video for their first single, DUMB DUMBS, an “anti-drug/pro-candy anthem.” Featuring “a colorful, decedent Paradise Lost where drugs and lascivious acts are replaced by mountains of candy and swarms of offbeat characters”—too cute.
