Nov. 4 marks midterm elections in the United States, and MoveOn is one organization that wants to make sure everybody gets out to vote! MoveOn is a community of 8 million Americans who share the common goal of winning campaigns for progressive change. This is the best news I have heard all week. One of my favorite actors, Ezra Miller, has been cast as Barry Allen, aka The Flash, in the 2018 movie by the same name. Miller is not only from my home state of scenic New Jersey, he is a feminist who regularly protests for reproductive rights, including at the One Billion Rising action at Times Square on Valentine's Day 2012. When asked about his sexuality, he identifies as queer, and told Out magazine, "I am very ... Actress Laurie Holden used to kick serious zombie butt on the first three seasons of The Walking Dead, but now she is also fighting some real life jerks — sex traffickers. Holden was involved in a recent sting operation in Cartagena, Colombia and caught four sex traffickers, saving more than 50 girls, many of which were under 18.  She told CBC News, "We pretended we were having a big bachelor party, so my role was the girlfriend of one of the ... The researchers turned glucoraphanin into sulforaphane and converted them into capsules so they could control the doses for ... Read More
There have been few events in my life that have been pivotal enough for me to remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when they happened. One of them is the first time I saw “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On." I was in the library at school, I was supposed to be studying, and I laughed loudly enough to irritate the people at the table next to me. Over the years, the short film has grown to mean so much to me that I even got a tattoo of Marcel. The ... Read More
The YouTube community is at a loss with recent accusations of sexual assault directed towards popular “prankster,” Sam Pepper. This British vlogger has over 2 million subscribers on YouTube and over 1.1 million followers on Twitter. A majority of his fans are young women.  Personally, I’m shocked that he was able to gain a fan base on YouTube, considering his prank videos that involve violating women. His most recent video, which promoted ... Read More
