More than an art opening...

BY Dawn in General

I'm sure everyone has been bombarded with political events and fundraisers for weeks now what with the embarrassment of Palin, to the stop and start McCain campaign. Well, tonight in San Francisco you can see some art, drink some free absinthe, AND raise money for the Obama campaign! And yes, you can watch the VP debate at the same time too. What a fabulous combination. Read on for more details! 'Secrets' new work by Louise Zervas will be on display at The Last Laugh Cafe opening at 7pm. There will also be performances by Sassy http://www.myspace.com/sassytheband. Read More

I love this organization, Boarding for Breast Cancer. They set up little workshops at various snowboarding and surfing events and even at the Vans Warped tour to teach women how to check their breasteses. I know times are tough, but if you happen to have some extra cash, they are having a fund raising event on Oct. 23rd in NYC with cocktails, hors d’oeuvers, art and silent auction to support the foundation. For more info go to www.b4bc. Read More
Apparently Katy Perry, famous for her popular (and controversial) songs ''Ur So Gay'' and ''I Kissed a Girl'', is now about to have her own doll made by Integrity Toys. The $50 doll has a gold minidress based off of Perry's outfit in the ''I Kissed a Girl'' music video and looks more like a weirdo knock-off retro Barbie than the actual teenybopper singer. Now you, too, can make Katy Perry kiss a girl, but don't plan on her and Skipper moving into their own dollhouse dream mansion together anytime soon, cuz this doll only pretends to be gay to get attention from Ken. that don't fit and give the world an unintentional, back-gap, peep show whenever you bend down. isAbelt is a clear, adjustable, virtually invisible belt that keeps those jeans in place and your waist streamlined, so you don't have to wear a regular-old, heavy, bulky belt. Since I like my belts to show, my personal fav is isAbelt Jr-Skull style complete with cute skulls and pink lips graphics. It's super fun, really comfortable, and fits up to a junior's size 12 (women's size 12-14). All other isAbelt's come in junior's, women's, and plus-size women's styles. Read More
