Do you know what happened yesterday? The Madonna: Celebration DVD dropped. Okay, so if you're not as big of a Madonna fan as I am, you probably weren't looking forward to this event as much as I was. I don't want to give away too much about the quirky little ditty, Obvious Child, but I will say that it's an unlikely romantic comedy in that it features Jenny Slate as a woman named Donna, heartbroken and one half of a one night stand who winds up pregnant. In anticipation of this week's release of Whip It, starring BUST cover girls Ellen Page and Alia Shawkat, we interns caught some serious flat-track action at the Gotham Girls Roller Derby bout Saturday night at Hunter College. Neither of us had any derby experience under our belt, so neither of us knew quite what we were in for. But by the end of the night, we had cheered our heads off, found about 20 more girl crushes, bought tons of derby merch, and were pretty convinced we had just discovered the greatest sport ever invented.
