"Dear Cis People" is making waves with its bold mission statement and arresting messages. The tumblr, which is controlled (and minimally edited) by a trans woman named Amy, describes itself as "a place for trans people to send an anonymous message to the cis population as a whole," as well as  "a means of opening a communication line from people who are often silenced, either inadvertently or otherwise." Yesterday, the Arizona House of Representatives attempted to vote on an appalling anti-transgender bill. The measure would require people to use the public restrooms associated with the sex on their birth certificate or serve up to six months in jail. Representative John Kavanagh, who proposed the bill, is reacting to an anti-discrimination ban that was passed in Phoenix only last month. Tuesday, Novemeber 20th marked the fourteenth annual day of Transgender Remembrance. The White House joined in taking a moment of silence to honor those who have lost their lives because of anti-transgender violence.
