If you're going to pick one, The Prettiots are just the band you would want to write a brutally honest ode to all the dummies you dated in high school. Made up of spunky front woman Kay Kasparhauser, Rachel Trachtenburg (of Supercute!) and Lulu Prat (Tangiers), the New York based band is a bit of uke-pop, indie, and pop rock rolled into one cute package, with some serious attitude.

Last night we attended a launch party for Rookie Yearbook One--edited by current BUST cover girl Tavi Gevinson!--at McNally Jackson Books in New York City. The room was packed with amazing girls, good vibes, lots of love, candy, and endless outfit inspirations.

The Brooklyn-based indie pop group has launched a Kickstarter fundraiser so they can record their first full album, which Kate Nash will be producing. They’re writing and recording ten original tracks as well as some covers for the album.
They also need funds to shoot the video for their first single, DUMB DUMBS, an “anti-drug/pro-candy anthem.” Featuring “a colorful, decedent Paradise Lost where drugs and lascivious acts are replaced by mountains of candy and swarms of offbeat characters”—too cute. Read More

Supercute!, the pint-size girl trio, (who are all in their early teens!) we featured in last summer’s music issue, are selling home-made valentines cookies to raise money to go on tour. The cookies are organic and hand-crafted with the names of classic rock songs, like Love Is a Battlefield, and topped off with buttercream frosting. Yummy and adorable! They can be picked up in the Williamsburg area, or you can get them delivered. As long as you order them before Feb 6th they can ship be shipped anywhere in the U.S. Read More
