Superchief Gallery, which BUST partnered with for our first art show last summer, is jumping coasts and opening a new gallery in downtown L.A. The grand opening group show opens on May 15th and will run through July 31. This bi-coastal gallery’s new digs flaunt 4,000 sq. ft of warehouse space, which they say they'll take as a challenge to “go bigger and better than before.”
The new space has lead to Superchief’s largest group show yet, featuring Swoon, Dennis McNett, Coby Kennedy, Miguel Ovalle (DIZMO), and many more. Read More

Multi-talented artist and fashion designer Claudia Gold is painting a mural for BUST tomorrow at our Ladies Represent! art show and we couldn’t be more stoked. Not only will she be showcasing her skills in action, but her work will be featured in our gallery itself! Gold got her start as CLAW Money, the legendary alter ego she created for her street artwork. The New Yorker has been creating vibrant, pop culture-inspired murals and designs since the ‘80s, so we’re honored to have her at our gallery show tomorrow at Superchief. Read More

Hey, got any cool plans tonight? Even if you do, you should probably cancel, 'cause this is way cooler. Superchief Gallery is celebrating its move to the Lower East Side with a big ol’ opening party at its Clinton Street location. The flyers are boasting a bunch of DJ sets as well as a live performance by Respect. Even better, the long list of featured artists includes some super skilled ladies. Heather Benjamin, the author and illustrator of the comic Sad People Sex, has two pieces in the show. Read More
Apparently the NYPD have been all sorts of busy lately. Pals over at SUPERCHIEF have posted a video of a teenager being assaulted by an officer on a train platform after he allegedly evaded fare. In the video, the victim is being body slammed and pushed up against a wall by a cop taking his job a little too seriously.
In addition, The New York Times have posted a piece exposing tactics regarding search policies that pay no attention to gender. Read More

The Ohio River Project is the latest venture of artists who make boats out of awesome pieces of trash and travel down various rivers. They stop in towns along the way to put on free shows for the public and create fun experiences, tons of laughter, and amazing pictures. Every year the masterminds behind the project pick a different river, and this time around they're sailing down one of the largest and most populated in the United States, the Ohio River. The boat is constructed from a mix of pianos, books, and even a Ferris Wheel, and “Bigfoot: The Musical” is their latest show. Read More
