Today is Women’s Equality Day, the anniversary of (pardon me, *white) women gaining the right to vote in 1920. We started in Seneca Falls, and now we’re here – 95 years later, fierce and feminist as ever. To celebrate, we’ve compiled fifteen "Suffrage Jams" paying homage not only to the activists who pushed for the 19th Amendment, but to the millions of badass women who have since enjoyed and exercised that right. Science has spoken, and your adolescent tastes have been affirmed — the Spice Girls' “Wannabe” is the catchiest song in the UK.  “Wannabe,” released in 1996 on the album Spice, was quickly the best selling single by a female group.    The experiment was conducted by Hooked On Music, a research campaign with the Manchester Science Festival and the University of Amsterdam. Even though it David won’t be competing in this year’s Games, it seems a Beckham will still be a star at the 2012 London Olympics this August. In June, we reported about The Spice Girls reuniting for the first time since 2008 for the launch of their musical “Viva Forever,” and now it has been officially confirmed that the Spice Girls will officially be reuniting for a two-song performance at the closing ceremony of the London Olympic games on August 12. The spice girls are back again! Well, in spirit. The five women reunited this past week to promote the new musical Viva Forever! that will debut in London's West End in December. It was the first time that Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell were all in the same place in four years.
