Still not sure about the technical differences between a remix and a rework, but Kanye has done the latter to Lorde’s first single off of the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I soundtrack that she both contributed to and curated. The New Zealand teen’s sparky “Yellow Flicker Beat” that was released earlier this fall, has been reduced to “Flicker,” but the haunting synths are even more absorbing. After four weeks of posting mysterious pictures of lyrics online, Lorde finally released her new single “Yellow Flicker Beat” for the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.
Lorde’s voice is as haunting as ever when she sings, “I’m a princess cut from marble, smoother than a storm/ And the scars that mark my body/ They’re silver and gold” She wrote on her Tumblr, “It's my first offering from what I hope will be a soundtrack you love. Lorde is once again proving that she is as royal as her name (and her Grammy award-winning single) suggest. It’s just been announced that the singer is set to release the lead single, as well as curate the soundtrack, for Mockingjay - Part 1, the first film of the final installment of the Hunger Games trilogy.
The 17-year old singer/songwriter commented that compiling the soundtrack and working with all of the artists involved was a challenging and unique experience. Read More

Amaze Babe Karen O, vocalist of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and former BUST cover girl, will be performing the Oscar nominated original tune "The Moon Song" at the Academy Awards on March 2nd.
The awards mark her first time performing this song for a televised audience and we couldn't be more excited to see her bring the gorgeous new tune to life.
