None of us lady folk really enjoy the pressure the media and cultural norms heap on us to look and act a certain way; however, despite our distaste for societal beauty standards, many of us get fully immersed trying to keep up with the pack. That’s why the Stop the Beauty Madness campaign is so refreshing, and what makes its rise in popularity so exciting.

In honor of International Women's Day (IWD) coming up this Saturday March 8th, Catapult - a crowd-funding website championing the empowerment of women and girls - created a series of photos as a part of a visual campaign depicting the growing global epidemic of sex slavery, child slavery, and child brides.
The campaign created mock magazine covers, nearly identical to the well-known pop-culture magazines we see stuffed into our newsstands. Read More
