Oh, dear. We all know Roman Polanski has done some terrible things to girls and women, and I guess he hasn’t learned anything since his rape conviction in 1977. At the Cannes Film Festival, the director railed against the birth control pill, saying that it “has changed the place of women in our times.”
What place? The place of the virgin or the mother? While both have been used iconographically in his films, I’m shocked to hear that he might actually expect all women to conform to the specific lifestyle he prefers. YUCK. Read More

The project aims to provide “accessible information about women’s fertility and menstrual cycles and showcases photographs documenting changes in the cervix and cervical fluid throughout the cycle.” The creators hope to inspire women to learn more about their bodies by performing cervical self-exams. Did you know September is Abortion Access Month? (I didn’t either...but now we both do!) The National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF) is celebrating 20 years of helping women get the care they need by spearheading a renewed effort to open dialogue about abortion in the United States.
NNAF board members Veronica Bayetti Flores and Eesha Pandit kicked off the month with an article on Feministing, revealing rather shocking statistics on the current state of a woman’s right to choose.
