I love dogs. I say this sentence almost once a day in order to explain to someone why I need to pet a stranger’s dog on the street. I am especially prone to cuddle up old dogs with grey faces and sweet demeanors. My family has two old and gray pugs at home so I love giving old dogs a good squeeze on the street.
Now you know why I’m tearing up at my desk in the BUST HQ looking at these pictures of old dogs that are also national heroes. Yeah, okay, that’s a lie. I’m full on crying at my desk and trying not to get tears on my laptop. Read More

Growing up is difficult for everyone, include puppies, but learning new things can also be deeply rewarding. Sometimes, life transitions seem daunting, whether you’re leaving college, switching jobs, or jumping from a very tall couch for the very first time. 9-week-old puppy Pierre (how French!) recently faced this challenge. He was frightened at first, but with the encouragement of his friends and family, he made the leap. As we face future transitions, the twists and turns of growing up, it’s always nice to have a sweet dog to identify with. Read More

My heart just exploded through my ribs. If this video of a grandfather being surprised with an English Bulldog puppy/pile of chubby wrinkles doesn’t make you smile just a little bit, then I don’t know what to tell you. Read More

Anyone else out there having one of those days/weeks/millennia in which they consistently question the goodness of mankind? Most of the news cycle is designed to point to awful people doing awful things. It's hard – especially on Thursdays – to be an optimist. Read More

Meet Douglas, a beautiful growing African hippopotamus. He was found abandoned at two weeks old by rescuers with Conservation Lower Zambezi, and he now lives at Chipembele Wildlife Rescue in hopes of growing up safely and learning how to be a wild hippo. It's the start of another week, which means it's time to face the struggles of life anew. What better to combat that with than videos of small and fuzzy animals doing ridiculous stuff?! There's nothing that says "I'll worry about those taxes later!" quite like a clip of a hamster stuffing ten carrots into his cheek pouches. In that spirit, we've prepared for you a clip-a-day to keep productivity away! Happy squealing.
On Monday, we are all a Bun Bun...a.k.a. a kitten so confused with the universe that he seems capable of little more than walking in horizontal lines. Read More

It’s a perfect day – the glimmering sun breaks through the clouds and warms their backs as they cheerily go for their daily afternoon stroll. The loving father beams down at her when suddenly, spotting something in the road, she skitters away, and he shouts out, Stay! to his – dog? Or, uh, daughter?
This commercial from the Best Friends Animal Society disturbingly blurs the line between girl and pup.
The advertisement is for their Fix At Four campaign, which encourages pet owners to spay and neuter their animals at four months. Read More

Here’s one unusual animal pairing that’ll get your heart warming in no time. Little remains known about the story’s background, but the adorable photos tell it all: a mastiff adopted a baby chimpanzee as one of its own. Cue endless baby talk.
It’s unclear whether the baby chimp’s mother passed away or abandoned the newborn, but after a zoo caretaker took the chimp home and introduced it to the mastiff and her puppies, the pair became inseparable. Read More
