In case you are one of the few who hasn't seen this plastered all over Facebook (thank you, Aunt Susan), here's the breaking news of the day: Russell Brand is a political genius.
A few nights ago, Brand appeared on the British political program "Newsnight" where he discussed the state of the world with host Jeremy Paxman. I usually agree with the Internet’s recognition and subsequent celebration of all the incredible women who run the world: Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Tina Fey, Hillary Clinton, and so many more.

As a woman, I love when rich white men with a chip on their shoulders limit my reproductive rights and tell me that I can’t marry the woman I love. Since I’m still paying for Eve’s first sin, I haven’t yet had the chance to pray the gay away. But I’m sure I’ll be okay once I find a guy to keep me barefoot and pregnant.
Those poor emotional creatures who say otherwise are simply distracted by “shiny objects”, because everybody knows we’re about as important as rims on a car or a Zales commercial. Read More

On December 13, 64 people were arrested at a punk show that was raising money for a local orphanage in the Aceh province of Indonesia. Those taken weren’t charged with a crime or brought before a court, but were arrested for having mohawks, tattoos, earrings, and wearing dark clothing. Basically for being “punk.”
These men and women, most in their early twenties, were taken to the Aceh State Police School for “reeducation. Read More

For the last 27 days, Canadian dairy farmer, Michael Schmidt, has been surviving on only one glass of raw milk a day. Since selling raw milk or unpasteurized milk is illegal in Canada, the goal of Schmidt’s hunger strike is to get a real discussion going about why that is. Read More
