Patty Griffin’s latest album American Kid was released a year ago. Since then she’s been touring to promote. Patty and her kick ass band came around again to NYC for 2 shows and I was lucky enough to go to her Music Hall of Williamsburg gig this past Friday night.
Ms. Griffin and company held the audience captive for 90 minutes with selections from Patty’s catalogue as well as a few surprise numbers. If I had to use one word to describe Ms. G. it would be eclectic. Patty and band performed at least 5 different styles of music through out their set. Read More

It's been six years since Patty Griffin released an album of new material. Yeah, she did a way cool Gospel album (which won a Grammy) then recorded and toured with Robert Plant's Band of Joy but no new stuff since '07's stand out Children Running Through. Well, girlfriend is back with what I consider to be her most personal album yet and it's in tribute to her recently departed father.
Although Ms. Griffin is identified as an acoustic guitar and piano player much of her music is never in just one genre. Read More

Last night at the Town Hall Theater in New York City the phenomenal Patty Griffin and her smokin' band brought down the house. Featuring songs from her latest release, the Gospel inspired Downtown Church, Patty and her five peace band tore it up on songs like `Wade In The Water', `The Strange Man' and Big Mama Thorton's `I Smell A Rat'.
Quieter numbers like the original composition `Little Fire' and the Gospel classic `Waiting For My Child To Come Home' and got the royal treatment with Patti's vocal expertise front and center. Read More
