Neil the lion is going viral, following a Retronaut post on Mashable earlier this week. Neil was the household pet of actors Tippi Hedren and Noel Marshall, and Hedren's daughter Melanie Griffith, in 1971. Griffith was 19 years old in the photos. The family lived together on a ranch in California while Hedren and Marshall prepared for their 1981 film Roar.

The very first photo EVER uploaded to the web has just surfaced, and it’s just as good as we always hoped. It’s a promotional shot for an all-female comedy group, Les Horribles Cernettes, based at the Nuclear Research center in Switzerland. Yeah, pretty random.
