The Hunger Games is officially a phenomenon. People of all ages and tastes are loving it and with such a twisted plot and kickass heroine, who can blame them? America is geeking out together and I'm loving every minute of it. Not only are the fans varied, but so is the film's fashion. From district to kooky capital, there is surprising inspiration to be had.   Seventh grade isn't a great time for anyone, but it was my worst year in school. Why? Because I was constantly bullied and sexually harassed by some boys in school. I never talked to anyone about it (because it seemed to be par for the course), but those experiences affected how I felt about myself for years to come.  I overcame these experiences over time, but not everyone does. A trip to the movie theater usually stresses me out, and it's not just the $12 popcorn that does it. I am notoriously that movie-goer who easily gets offended by the portrayal of women onscreen. There have been some standouts lately--films like Bridesmaids and Pariah that have made me optimistic about what can be done if female writers and directors are given a voice.
