There are few things in this world I love more than the Muppets, but a feminist Muppet? I definitely love that more.
Last week, international celebrity, best-selling author, and fashion icon Miss Piggy received a Sackler Center First Award from the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum. The prestigious award is presented to women who have broken barriers and charted changes in all disciplines and areas. In the realm of iconic female characters, Miss Piggy reigns supreme. Introduced in 1974, at forty-one she has lasted far past the f**kable age usually given to female celebrities, and shows no signs of stopping. Her loud, charming, abrasive attitude combined hyper-femme style makes her an excellent recipient of the New York Museum Award.

Imagine a 1950s diner on an acid trip and you’ll land at Boopsie Daisy, an Etsy shop by Canadian-based user Missy Munday. Though the shop sells art prints, the prints are truly more like pages torn out of an ongoing creepy-cute fairytale that could easily be turned into a Tim Burton film.
