Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is just another male in the corporate world contributing to this problem by telling women at a conference to just "trust the system." Neil the lion is going viral, following a Retronaut post on Mashable earlier this week. Neil was the household pet of actors Tippi Hedren and Noel Marshall, and Hedren's daughter Melanie Griffith, in 1971. Griffith was 19 years old in the photos. The family lived together on a ranch in California while Hedren and Marshall prepared for their 1981 film Roar.

In honor of International Women's Day (IWD) coming up this Saturday March 8th, Catapult - a crowd-funding website championing the empowerment of women and girls - created a series of photos as a part of a visual campaign depicting the growing global epidemic of sex slavery, child slavery, and child brides.
The campaign created mock magazine covers, nearly identical to the well-known pop-culture magazines we see stuffed into our newsstands. Read More
